Mediaeval walls surround a millennium old church and 1677 national heritage buildings. Maastricht was born as a Roman settlement due to its advantageous location along the Maas River. As a result, it is known as one of the oldest cities in The Netherlands.

Meanwhile, innovation sparks all across the city. Now robots work in our classrooms and restaurants.

It is the birthplace of the European Union and the Euro currency, hosting the Treaty of Maastricht in 1992. Currently, Maastricht University is known as the European university of the Netherlands.

About the Department of Marketing and Supply Chain Management

The Department of Marketing & Supply Chain Management (MSCM) is part of Maastricht University School of Business and Economics (SBE) and is a vibrant international group of academics dedicated to high quality research and education with a strong drive for societal relevance.

MSCM proudly host a strong group in service research publishing in all major service research journals. The Department consists of > 70 staff. Around 50 professors (assistant, associate and full), lecturers and project managers. It also includes >20 PhD students, and a secretariat.
